Panel discussion: Repertoire, diversity and new music chaired by Rachel Howley
5th Oct 2018 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Teaching Horn is a unique pursuit. Framing the pathway for an aspiring horn player requires a very personalised and structured approach. No student should be taught in the same way, as each individual has very specific needs. Whether it be technical, physical and in some cases psychological, all aspects of their learning must be rigorously investigated so to provide advice and solutions based on defensible pedagogical evidence. Through this panel discussion with leading Horn/Brass teachers, I hope to identify and discuss a unified teaching framework that could be applied to any teaching studio. This session will also include Q & A of the panel and facilitator.
