The panel will discuss programming and repertoire selection from a diversity angle (gender, ethnicity, orientation, and so on) as well as creative ways to think outside the box when programming for our large ensembles. We will also grapple with defining quality in a piece of music, especially for new works. As music educators and conductors we need to be leading this important conversation in Australia, one that has taken on global proportions and implications, as well as historic significance.
