Pursuing diversity from the podium: Exploring the works of Australian women for your high school band
4th Oct 2018 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Playing a musical instrument or conducting those who do is an emotive, creative and passionate activity. It is also extremely physical. This aspect is still not often thought of, nor taught to musicians, until they can't play because of pain or injury. While sports medicine research has changed the way sports approach injury reduction and management, the world of music lags far behind in awareness and implementation of some simple principles that can not only reduce PRMCs (playing relayed musculoskeletal conditions) but also potentially improve players musicianship. David will present aspects of recent music specific research and his own experience with helping musicians recover from injury and perform at their best.
Participants are to bring an instrument!
David is also offering individual physio consultations during anboc. Book your session now!
