Jenny began playing the oboe at 12 years of age. She spent many years in the Queensland Youth Orchestra and at the QLD Conservatorium of Music before continuing her oboe studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.  On returning to Brisbane, Jenny played with the QLD Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestras, now The QLD Orchestra, as well as in many musicals and other freelance engagements.  Jenny has also had a long association with the Queensland Pops Orchestra, playing Principal Oboe since mid-1990. In late 2001, Jenny and husband Neil released “Oboe d’amour”, a solo CD inspired by Colin Harper’s requests for Jenny as a soloist with the QLD Pops Orchestra. This was extremely successful, winning the QRA’s Sunnie Award for Best Classical CD in 2002. Jenny has taught oboe at many schools in Brisbane.  She is currently on staff at St Peters Lutheran College, Indooroopilly as Oboe teacher, Classroom Music Teacher, Aural and Theory Coordinator and Conductor of Forte Voce boys’ choir. Jenny is also an active committee member of the Australasian Double Reed Society, Queensland which promotes and supports Double Reed players and students.
