Dan Quigley is an accomplished jazz trumpeter and Head of School at Jazz Music Institute, a Higher Education Provider in Brisbane delivering a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance. Dan has been teaching jazz in post-secondary courses since 1998 and completed his Masters of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium. He has performed with some of Australia’s finest jazz musicians including Dale Barlow, Mike Nock, Judy Bailey and Grace Knight. Dan also performed as one of only two Queensland representatives in the Australian National Jazz Orchestra in 2017. Dan has been endorsed by Wynton Marsalis, Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center: “This is one of the first jazz curriculums that addresses the entire fundamental range of jazz styles; from New Orleans to Bebop to Modern, it’s all there. Dan Quigley has developed a template that should be followed by schools who are serious about the study and performance of jazz music”.
